Hundreds of artists are suddenly finding themselves out of work, staying at home without unemployment, but with rent payments due and limited options for meeting an unexpected financial crisis. We have received messages and seen posts from our family of Indieworks Artists in dire need. However, as a small and fairly-new company, and with all of our programming currently postponed or canceled, we don't have the resources to financially support those of you who have given so much of your time and talents to help us in the past.

So to continue our mission of creating, developing, and producing new work while keeping theatre affordable and accessible to audiences and artists alike, we are presenting the ONLINE ORIGINAL MONOLOGUE FESTIVAL (OOMF!), a sort of "online telethon" for IndieWorks Artists featuring original monologues written by members of our nationwide theatre community and performed by our artists in order to receive direct-to-artist contributions from our at-home audience. And we'd like YOU to be a part of it!

Over the course of a week, IndieWorks will present FREE online workshops to serve as educational outreach programming and to guide participants through topics such as effective storytelling techniques, the elements of writing and acting a monologue, and even using video conferencing and broadcasting apps. We'll invite anyone who is interested to take the classes and submit original writing to us for the opportunity to have one of our IndieWorks Artists perform it LIVE at our online event, Sunday, April 26, 2020 from 5pm-8pm.
