ALINA GATRELL

Alina is delighted for her first performance with the IndieWorks Theater Company. Previous roles include Ursula in THE LITTLE MERMAID, Madame Thenardier in LES MISERABLES, and Trix in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. She most recently performed in four new musicals at NYPL’s ACROSS A CROWDED ROOM at Lincoln Center. She has loved working in theater for the past 15 years as an actress, costume designer, and makeup artist.

Kellan is thrilled to be a part of this cast and working with IndieWorks Theatre Company! Jianzi Colón-Soto, born in Puerto Rico and raised in Florida, graduated with a BFA in Theatre Arts from the CAP21 Program at Molloy College. Recent credits include: THE LITTLE MERMAID (Alpha Theatre NYC), WEST SIDE STORY IN CONCERT (The Madison Theatre), TROILUS AND CRESSIDA (Under St. Marks), THE WRONG BOX (Visceral Entertainment), LADY CAPULET (Turn to Flesh). CREATIVE TEAM BIOGRAPHIES

KIT GOLDSTEIN GRANT (Composer/Lyricist)

Kit is a prize-winning, New York City-based composer, lyricist and librettist. Her musicals have been seen in South Africa (THE NOSE, AnexTheatre Productions) and in New York at Theater for the New City (THE WRONG BOX), The Players Theatre (WHERE ANGELS FEAR TO TREAD, THML Theater), the Master Theater (THE NOSE), the Midtown International Theater Festival (THE NOSE, nominee Best Musical), the Emerging Artists Theatre New Work Series (IN THE HORSE), and the Musical Theatre Factory. IndieWorks has also presented her works at The Gallery Players (THE GIANT HOAX), the Hudson Guild Theatre (EMPTY FRAMES), and at the Theater at St. Clements (THE COMMUTERS...) which was nominated Best Musical in the Strawberry Theatre Festival.  Five of her musicals for young audiences have toured schools with the Schenectady Theatre for Children, including IT’S RAINING TAMALES!, which is published by YouthPLAYS.  Kit has studied at Juilliard as well as the Tony-Award winning BMI Musical Theatre Writing Workshop, and she is a member of The Dramatists Guild and ASCAP.

CALEB DAMSCHRODER (Composer)

Caleb is a New York City based composer/lyricist and actor, and an Ohio native.  His music MOLLY SWEENEY has headlined both the Bay Street Theatre's New Works Festival in Sag Harbor, NY, and the Festival of New Works at the Human Race Theatre of Dayton, OH.  His musical DEVIL'S KIN  was developed at CAP21 and took part in the PiTCH Series for new works at the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival.  Caleb composed the music for THE COMMUTERS... (IndieWorks Theatre Co.), which was voted Audience Favorite at the 2015 NYC Strawberry Festival. Caleb is a member of the TONY-honored Lehman Engel BMI Musical Theatre Workshop and the Dramatist Guild.  As an actor, Caleb has been seen on Broadway in the 2014 revival of Cabaret and starred in PAINT YOUR WAGON at City Center Encores!  On television, Caleb has been seen on SHADES OF BLUE, YOUNGER and GUIDING LIGHT.

JONATHON LYNCH (Composer/Music Director)

Jonathon wrote the book, music, and lyrics to THE TURING TEST (Lincoln Center and Gallery Players), and music for AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN (Unsung Musicals Co), TIME TRAVEL MAKES COMPLETE SENSE (Bruno Walter Theater), SLAM! (Soundbites musical festival 2013 finalist), NEWB (webseries score), and ¡CANTA! SONGS FOR LEARNING SPANISH (album). Upcoming projects include book, music, & lyrics for THE BAROQUE CYCLE. His music has been performed at the Lincoln Center, Joe's Pub at the Public Theatre, NYTB, New World Stages, 54 Below, and the 47th St. Theatre. He was copyist/assistant music director for FINDING NEVERLAND (NY workshop dir. Diane Paulus), music director/dance arranger for THE CITY CLUB (Minetta Lane, prod. Mitchell Maxwell), and orchestrator for various songs by Brian Lowdermilk. An alum of Northwestern University and the BMI Workshop, Jonathon is currently music directing faculty at AMDA. SOPHIE OBERFIELD (Lyricist/Book Writer)

Sophie is a writer, playwright, lyricist and educator. A native New Yorker, she holds a BA in Literature from Yale University and a master’s degree in Theatre History and Criticism from Hunter College-CUNY. Her master’s thesis examines how musical-theatrical tools convey the internal experience of mental illness, treatment, and clinical results/emotional resolution in LADY IN THE DARK and NEXT TO NORMAL. She has studied with Adam Gwon at Primary Stages’ Einhorn School for the Performing Arts (ESPA) and Anna Jacobs at the New York Musical Theater Festival. Most recently, she was trained at the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop. Sophie has taught English at Stuyvesant High School since 2008.

GIL VAROD (Lyricist/Book Writer)

Gil is a bookwriter/lyricist whose musical OEDIPUS FOR KIDS! extended/sold out at NYMF, has been licensed by Samuel French to productions across North America, and was recently featured in concert at Feinstein’s/54 Below. His musical AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN was recently developed at UnsungMusicalCo’s 2019 4-week intensive writer’s lab. Other works include TIME, ET AL (FringeNYC), THE COMMUTERS (Lincoln Center Library/IndieWorks Theatre Co., 2 awards), TIME TRAVEL MAKES COMPLETE SENSE and RANSOMWHERE? at (Lincoln Center’s Across a Crowded Room festival), A JURY LINE and THE ZEGEND OF LELDA (West Village Musical Theatre Festival; Best Musical/Lyrics/Book), and THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WALT DISNEY ABRIDGED (Walt Disney Imagineering). Gil has studied with Adam Gwon, Kirsten Childs, Anna Jacobs, Daniel Goldfarb, and at the BMI Musical Theatre Writing Workshop. He is possibly best known for his website Broadway Abridged featuring satirical scripts skewering plays and musicals, which are secretly passed around backstage by Broadway cast members, much like love notes in math class, but usually with more comments about plot holes.

FERNANDA DOUGLAS (Composer)

Fernanda Douglas is a composer and music director from Goleta, California, and a graduate of Columbia University. She is an active member of the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop and her original musical, "PLATH.", was part of the 2015 NY Fringe Festival. Fernanda is an associate voice coach with Broadway vocal supervisor, Liz Caplan, and in her free time, she's the deputy director of The Dream Unfinished, the NYC-based activist orchestra. She recently returned from New Delhi, India where she was working on the musical adaptation of film director, Mira Nair's "MONSOON WEDDING".

JEREMY TERRY (Producer)

Jeremy is the Founder and Executive Producer of Jeremy Terry Productions.His background in entertainment includes work with Alluvion Stage Company,Wolfbane Productions, Proof Productions,the Walt Disney Company,and Roundabout Theatre Company.He has worked with the creative teams on projects from regional productions to Broadway shows. Jeremy has served as Executive Producer for his company’s production of THE NUTCRACKER AND THE MOUSE KING, a new play which received its first production at the Minnesota Fringe Festival 2016 as well as for THE CAMPAIGN, a long running episodic improv show inspired by tabletop roleplaying games. He currently serves as Managing Director for IndieWorks Theatre Company where he has been the Executive Producer on projects ranging from cabarets and concerts (LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS, KIT GOLDSTEIN GRANT & FRIENDS, DIRTY LITTLE DITTIES), to stage productions (THE COMMUTERS… THE GIANT HOAX) and even a film (VALLEY HIGH).
