SUBMIT YOUR PLAY OR MUSICAL

In accordance with our commitment to develop and bring new works to the stage, IndieWorks Theatre Company is currently accepting submissions for new works of theatre and musical theatre to be considered for readings, workshops, and full production in New York City!

We accept submissions of all types of musical and non-musical plays, however, we are most interested in full-length (90 minute one-act or two-acts), contemporary pieces with small to medium (1-8 person) casts and small to medium (3-6 people) combo bands.

Materials may be sent via Google Drive and Dropbox. Please send all materials grouped together in one folder to be named after the play.

Please read the guidelines and instructions below carefully before submitting your materials.

NON-MUSICAL PLAYS

A letter of introduction with a short description of your play and bio(s) of creator(s), and contact information

A synopsis of your play and approximate length

A character list specifying age, gender, and ethnicity of each character

A scene breakdown specifying locations

A brief history of the work's development and information on the desired next steps

FULL Script

Excerpt from script (not to exceed 10 pages).

MUSICALS

A letter of introduction with a short description of your musical, bio(s) of creator(s), and contact information

A synopsis of your musical and approximate length

A character list specifying age, gender, ethnicity, vocal part and vocal range of each character

Instrumentation (if any) or desired instrumentation

A scene breakdown specifying locations

A brief history of the work's development and information on the desired next steps

FULL Script

Demo recordings of all songs (excluding underscores, overtures, entr'actes, and reprises) in .mp3 format

All items should be separate documents so that they may be sent as packets to our reading committee. If the material suggests a potential fit with our program, we will contact you to discuss possible production opportunities. We accept scripts throughout the year. Most authors are notified of the status of their submissions within four to six weeks of receipt.
